Going Somewhere Warm for the Holidays?

Posted on 30 November 2016

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day
That's the island greeting that we send to you from the land where palm trees sway
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way to say Merry Christmas to you

Mele Kalikimaka by Bing Crosby

Alex and Ollie ready for a Hawaiian Christmas....
I'm sure by now we are hearing holiday songs on all the stations we tune to and in all of the stores we are in and out of.  When I think of Christmas songs, Bing Crosby comes to mind instantly.  I remember decorating for the holidays at home when I was a child and my mom always putting on the Bing Crosby album.  Coming from immigrant parents, any music playing in the house that was in English was a special treat.  So when it was time for Christmas music, it was Bing Crosby.

I always remembered this song playing and wondering what it would be like to be in Hawaii for the holidays or anywhere tropical.  That was definitely not a tradition in my house growing up.  To this day, I have spent every one of my Christmases right here in New York.  I'm still not sure if I can spend Christmas Day anywhere else besides my own home, but New Year's Eve is fair game.

For the first time ever, we are going somewhere tropical right after Christmas - Turks and Caicos, probably one of the most beautiful islands I have ever visited.  My husband and I went there for a quick weekend getaway a few years back and we are excited to take the girls.  We are all really looking forward to it and of course I immediately thought about how I hope the girls' bathing suits fit from the summer.  They grow like weeds these days.

We have all swimwear for boys and girls on sale for those of you wondering the same thing!

It will be an opportunity to de-stress after the holidays and start the New Year fresh and energized, spending time with the most important people in your life.  It will also be an opportunity to get to wear our fun summer clothing for a few days just to reminisce about those warmer months.

Looks like Xiana is having a lot of fun in her diamond twirl dress.

If you're going somewhere warm for the holidays and just realized that your kids have outgrown some of their summer clothing, check out some summer styles we have on sale right now for your resort vacation!
